The Air Force Culture and Language Center (AFCLC) offers two distance learning courses: "Introduction to Culture" and "Cross-Cultural Communication." Both courses are worth three semester hours of credit through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).
Our Expeditionary Courses equip Airmen prior to their deployment with basic cross-cultural competence skills via online training. These courses are mandatory for General Purpose Force (GPF) Airmen assigned to Air Expeditionary Forces (AEF) tempo deployment bands.
and the two skills associated with being a cross-culturally competent Airman: Perspective Taking and Cultural Analysis. Perspective Taking is the ability to recognize your own cultural perspective, and use that personal understanding to recognize the cultural perspectives of others.
These courses are mandatory for General Purpose Force (GPF) Airmen assigned to Air Expeditionary Forces (AEF) tempo deployment bands. The courses are delivered in 2 parts: Basic Deployment Readiness AOR Specific and Basic Deployment Readiness Country Specific.
The Voluntary Retake option allows learners to retake training to repeat the material of a course, improve their score, and/or update certificates and competencies that are to expire.
The course administrator can initialize retake of a course for a specific learner via LMS365 Admin Center > Learner Administration > Learner List > select the relevant learner > View Learner’s Progress > select the relevant training > select the Retake icon .
If the option Voluntary Retake is on and the learner has completed the training plan, the course administrator can initialize a retake for a specific learner via the LMS365 Admin Center > Learner Administration > Learner List > select the relevant learner > View Learner’s Progress > select the relevant training > select the Retake icon .
After a retake is initiated, in particular cases, learners will receive email notifications related to the retake flow. Below, you can find a description of these notification flows.
