Tell the student to go to https://www.redcross.org/digitalcertificate to access their certificate. Certificates are available 1 hour after the class was reported. The instructor and/or partner administrator can access the student certificates directly and email the certificate to the student.

two yearsBLS cards are valid for two years from the date on your certificate. If your American Red Cross BLS certification is about to expire (or has expired and you're within 30 days of its expiration), you can enroll in an abbreviated BLS course (a review course) and get recertified for two more years.

Basic life support (BLS) includes CPR but is an overall higher level of medical care typically administered by public safety professionals, first responders, paramedics, healthcare providers, and qualified bystanders.
The official AHA guidance states “Students in ACLS courses are not required by the AHA to have a current BLS Provider card, but they are expected to be proficient in BLS skills. Training Centers may require students to have current BLS Provider card.”
The short answer? No, the class is not generally considered difficult – however, compared to lay rescuer CPR & First Aid classes, there is a greater amount of information covered and the skill requirements are slightly more technical.

It is generally accepted that all staff should have annual updates, whether they are in primary dental or medical care and that training should include CPR for children. Research suggests that skills degrade after 3 to 6 months but to undertake training more often is often not practicable.
What happens if I fail that exam? At the end of First Aid courses, you must complete a multiple-choice question paper. If you fail this, you will have one opportunity to retake. If failed a second time, you will need to book and sit the course again, giving you 2 more opportunities to retake.
Once the certificate has expired, the first aider will no longer be deemed competent to act as a first aider until they have successfully completed a further course.
three yearsIn most cases, first aid certificates last for three years before they need to be renewed, but the HSE recommends a refresher course every year. When you complete your first aid at work training course or an emergency first aid course, you will be awarded a certificate, which will be valid for three years.
