Go to Site administration > Configure features > Learn settings. Select Enable RPL for courses to allow courses to be marked as completed by assigning a user a Record of Prior Learning.

- Click Course Completion in the Course Administration options to set the course completion conditions.
- Next you can configure your desired settings.

Does the course completion Archive remove learners from the course?
The course completion archive will not remove learners from the course, anyone enrolled will remain enrolled but with an empty course completion record so that they can retake the course.
Can a learner enroll in a course without completing the prerequisite course?
This setting does not prevent a learner from enrolling in this course when they have not completed the prerequisite course, but they cannot complete this course until they have completed the prerequisite course (s). Specify the date that users must remain enrolled until. Specify the number of days the user must remain enrolled for.
How do I mark a course complete in Moodle?

This is done by moving the completion records into a table on the database called course_completion_history table which stores a limited amount of information about the completion record, only the id, courseid, userid, timecompleted, and grade. How to access completion editor?
The Course completion editor is available if you have the right permissions from any course via the Administration block by following the path Course administration > Completion editor. To access the editor you need to have the capability totara/completioneditor:editcoursecompletion (by default this is only administrators).
What happens if you set completion option to manual?
If the new completion option is manual, everyone is set to not completed regardless of any previous setting.

Activity Completion
When an activity has completion conditions set on it a tick box appears alongside the activity. There are two types of tick boxes:
Course Completion
If your course has completion criteria you will see the Course Completion Status block on the course page. This block details the Activities you need to complete to complete the course.
When enabled, must the learner view the activity only to be marked as complete?
When enabled the learner must view the activity only to be marked as complete. If an activity has Require view in combination with other criteria , the user will only be marked complete if they view the activity at a moment when all other criteria are already complete.
What happens when you unlock complete and delete completion data?
When using 'Unlock complete and delete completion data' any previous manual completions are deleted and cannot be automatically regenerated. If it is automatic then, depending on the options chosen, some users may already meet the new criteria and immediately be marked complete.
Can multiple conditions be set?
Multiple conditions may be set if desired. If so, the activity will only be considered complete when all conditions are met. A tick next to the activity name on the course page indicates when the activity is complete. There are three options:

Unlocking Course Completion Conditions
When you select to Unlock completion options and delete user completion data, all completion information for the activity is deleted. Removing RPL
Once it has been added, it is only possible to remove RPL using the course completion editor .
Mark course complete via a program or certification
Another option available is marking RPL completions via a program or certification a learner is assigned to. Site Administrators and users with the requisite capabilities can view a learner's required learning to access the program/certification view page, here the option to Mark complete will be available.
