Blackboard Learn provides several methods for creating courses. The privileges assigned to your user account determine which methods are available to you. Users with privileges to create courses can do so in the Courses section on the Administrator Panel. You can also copy existing courses or create multiple courses at once by using a batch file.
Blackboard Learn users can set their individual language preferences in their user accounts. Select the Enforce Language Pack check box to override individual language preferences with the language pack assigned to the course. This setting only controls what users see within the course.
On the Administrator Panel, in the Courses section, select Courses. Point to Create Course and select New. You can merge existing sections, allowing instructors to manage multiple sections of the same course through a single master course. To learn more, see How to Merge and Separate Child Courses. Provide the course information.
Open a course card's menu to change your course availability. You can also change your course's status on the Course Content page. You can make your course private while you add or experiment with content, and then open it to students when you're ready. Students see private courses in their course lists, but they can't access them.

Courses may not appear in the My Courses module in Blackboard for a few reasons: The instructor has not yet published the course for student view (most common reason). The student has not yet successfully registered and paid for the course. There may be an issue with the student's enrollment.
Tool availability settings On the Control Panel, expand the Customization section and select Tool Availability. Select or clear the check boxes of the tools you want to use in your course and which users will have access to these tools.
The course menu is the panel on the left side of the interface that contains links to all top-level course areas. Instructors can also provide links to the tools page, individual tools, websites, course items, and module pages. Instructors control the content and tools available on the course menu.
On your Courses page in Blackboard, click the three dots next to a course and choose Hide Course. If you would like to unhide your course, click the Filter menu and choose "Hidden from me." Click the three dots next to a course and choose "Show Course."
It takes 24 hours from the time you registrar or change your registration in CUNYfirst for it to update in Blackboard. I see a class that I have taken previously, how do I remove these from the My Courses menu? Some instructors will keep their courses available after the course ends.

The navigation menu is located on the left of each course in Blackboard. It contains links to the content areas of your course like Assignments, Announcements, Course Documents and more.
The course discussion board can be accessed from a link in the course menu. Additionally, links to individual forums can be created in course content areas.

Each student may have a different requirement to mark certain items in your course as Reviewed. At any time, items in a student's track may or may not be visible to that student. The Performance Dashboard provides an at-this-moment view of the item availability and a student's progress on review requirement.
Examples of roles include instructor, student, grader, teaching assistant, guest, and observer. A user can have one role in your course and a different role in another course. Last Course Access: Displays the date and time when a user last accessed your course.

To prohibit unauthenticated users from enrolling in the course, select No. Categories. Select Course Catalog Category. The category determines where the course description appears in the course catalog. Select a category to select it and select the right-pointing arrow to move it to the Selected Items list.
To limit enrollment to a specific time period, select the Start Date and End Date check boxes and enter the dates and times between which users can enroll in the course. To limit enrollment to users with an access code, select the Require an Access Code to Enroll check box. Provide the text to use for the access code.
To define colors, open the menu for Background Color or Text Color . select a swatch to select a color or provide a Color Value in hexadecimal format (for example, 00FF00 for bright green). If you provide a hexadecimal code or select Skip, the swatch selection closes. Select Preview to view the color you provided.
With Edit Mode on, there is a lock icon in the upper-right corner of your Blackboard Course as of March 2018. During an active semester, clicking the lock icon will change the course's availability to students.
The Course Availability setting allows Instructors to make a course available or unavailable to students. Unavailable courses are not accessible to students, but are visible and accessible to instructors, teaching assistants, course builders and graders.
If your Blackboard course is unavailable, access is determined by course role. Blackboard administrators, instructors, course builders, teaching assistants, and graders can see and access unavailable courses from the My Courses list, even though they are marked as unavailable. Students cannot access unavailable courses.
A course must be made available before the enrolled students will be able to access the course and its content. An instructor may want to make a course unavailable during the building process or after a scheduled class has finished.
Students cannot access unavailable courses. Unavailable courses do not appear in the course catalog. Email sent via the Blackboard course will be delivered to enrolled students even if that course is unavailable.
