SiteGround is a hosting company that offers WordPress specialized service plans for just a few bucks a month — but only for your first invoice period (ei ther 12, 24 or 36 months).#N#This is an important point to take note of because after this initial invoice period is over, SiteGround’s pricing jumps dramatically and you’ll start paying premium prices for budget hosting.#N#That being said, what SiteGround provides you in terms of website performance, shared server storage (i.e. multiple customers sharing the same server hardware) and customer service is good enough to get started — especially if you’re strapped for cash.#N#Just know that you’ll need to upgrade your hosting when your business takes off (i.e. when your online traffic begins to spike) by migrating your site to a premium provider like we’re discussing next.
Keep the domain name you choose simple and relevant to your niche. As long your domain name makes sense for the range of courses you'll build, it's “good enough” to get started. In fact, the only rule you need to follow when selecting a domain name for your website is whether or not it can pass the Grandparent Test.
Hover.com. But it doesn’t really matter where you buy your domain name from because they all provide the same basic service. After creating a free account, use their domain name search function to make sure it’s available at an affordable price (usually around $10 USD) so you can pull the trigger on it.
However, it’s not practical to host your course videos directly from your website. If you do, you’ll quickly burn through your hosting service’s monthly bandwidth limits and crash your site. To get around this problem, you’ll need to subscribe to a video hosting service.
There are many online course platforms that you can use to build and sell courses. This includes Teachable, Thinkific, Kajabi, Udemy, etc. You can use any of them alongside your WordPress website. Depending on your needs, these platforms may offer an easier online course creation solution.
What Do You Need to Create / Sell an Online Course? 1 A course idea where you can help others learn new skills. 2 A domain name. This will be your website’s address (Example, wpbeginner.com). 3 A WordPress hosting account. This is where your website’s files are stored. 4 An eLearning management add-on (also known as LMS plugin) to create and manage courses. 5 Your undivided attention for the next 45 minutes.
Unfortunately not enough course creators use them. A case study allows you to highlight the most successful students in your community.
MemberPress allows you to easily sell online courses with subscription plans. You can create as many membership plans as you like, and users can select a plan to pay for your online course. You can also sell all your courses under single membership, offer free courses, or you can add different courses for each plan.
Luckily, Bluehost, an officially recommended WordPress hosting provider, has agreed to offer our users a free domain name, free SSL certificate, and a 60% discount on web hosting. Basically, you can get started for $2.75 per month. → Click Here to Claim This Exclusive Bluehost Offer ←.
Like any website, your online learning platform needs a server. While you could technically use any hosting plan for your LMS, there are benefits to choosing one that is specially designed for educational sites.
If you’re using your LMS for your school or as an employee training platform for your business, you should be able to easily reach those who need to take your course via email to let them know it’s now available. However, if you’re selling your online courses for a profit, you’ll need to market them.
It also integrates with PayPal and Stripe to accept payments. If you chose A2 Hosting to host your LMS, you can easily install any of these platforms (as well as 16 other options). Log in to your hosting account, then open cPanel for your LMS hosting plan.

Viva Learning is configured via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, within Settings > Org Settings, under Services.
People can by default add Viva Learning themselves to Microsoft Teams as an app. As an admin though, you should consider configuring it to automatically install, and potentially pin the app, by creating or modifying an App Setup Policy in the Teams Admin Center.
One of the most valuable features provided within the existing, paid Microsoft 365 licensing, is the ability to bring your own content to Viva Learning without paying for the Viva Learning uplift.
Naturally, you’ll want to make sure that content is curated and made available in the right way rather than just pointing Viva Learning at a list of document libraries.
The most natural (and human) thing to do when you’re a first-time online instructor is to doubt yourself. There are courses and tutorials already made on just about every topic and many of them have been shot with professional equipment.
Many people think that unlisted YouTube videos can’t be downloaded but this couldn’t be further from the truth. For example, this PCMag article lists 30+ ways to download YouTube content including downloadable software, helper sites, browser extensions and even mobile apps.
