The Army Senior Leader Course (SLC) is the new name of the previous Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course (ANCOC) and is usually taken by Soldiers in the Army who are ranked as Staff Sergeant and Sergeant First Class.

Master Leaders Course (MLC), is a branch-immaterial course that provides an opportunity for Soldiers selected for promotion to MSG to acquire the leader skills required for success at both troop and staff assignments throughout the defense establishment. MLC is now a pre-requisite for promotion to MSG.
The Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System (NCOPDS) is the keystone for NCO development. The NCOPDS establishes an organizational framework to develop the next generation of competent and committed NCOs. Noncommissioned Officers develop as leaders throughout their career through progressive and sequential processes.

The Standard Learning Credits scheme allows service personnel to claim funding for learning. These credits are specifically designed for multiple, small-scale learning activities.
In order to claim for funding, you must be enrolled on the SLC scheme prior to applying for the learning activity. You must complete an application form ( MOD Form 1950) before starting the course; this form is to be signed by both your line manager and education staff.
