The Control Panel can be found below the Course Menu when you are in a Blackboard course. Here, you can change settings for the course, adjust the look and feel of the course, access the Grade Center, and communicate with students. Students do not see the Control Panel.
To select recipients out of sequence, press the Ctrl key and select each name needed. For Macs, press the Command key instead of the Ctrl key. You can also select all course members with the Select All option. You can use the options in the editor to format the text of your message.

If you have unread messages in courses that are not from the current term, use the arrows in the Messages pane to identify the origin of the unread messages. If the course is no longer available to you, it will not be possible to clear the notification for those related messages.
Blackboard allows you to access course messages quickly. If you have a mix of Original and Ultra courses, you can access messages for both through the base navigation menu, by selecting the Messages tool icon.
Message notifications provide a clear number count that highlights any new messages received for a course. The is the first release of Ultra’s new notification feature. More enhancements are expected in a future release.
