When you study online, you achieve the same qualification as someone studying in the classroom at a college, TAFE or university. But unlike courses delivered the conventional way, online courses allow you to study from anywhere, and choose when you want to fit study into your week.
Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Grades of A, B, C, D, F and WF contribute toward the GPA. Grades of W, WC, P, I, AU and U do not. All grades, including developmental coursework and repeated courses, are included in the student's GPA.
History. The two-year Vernon Regional Junior College welcomed its first student body of 608 in 1972, and had a Board of Trustees of seven members. In 1970, the Wilbarger County voters had elected to establish the college. The 1973 100 acres (40.47 ha; 0.16 sq mi) campus was located at Texas State Highway 70 and US 287.

eLEARNING: eLearning (short for electronic learning) is an umbrella term that refers to all types of training, education and instruction that occurs on a digital medium, like a computer or mobile phone.
VC participates in intercollegiate baseball, rodeo, volleyball, and softball. In men's baseball, women's volleyball, and women's softball, VC is a member of the Northern Junior College Athletic Conference and Region V of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
Housing. Student housing is located on the Vernon Campus of Vernon College. The Student Residence Center houses 128 students and the Athletic Hall houses 28 baseball student-athletes in attractive, well-appointed rooms.

Vernon College adopts learning technologies and processes to positively transform teaching methods such that students are fully engaged in learning. Asynchronous is a recorded live class or other class materials that the student can access outside of a scheduled class time.
However, internet (online) courses require a significant amount of self-motivation, self-discipline, excellent study habits, and commitment for success.
Instruction is delivered in a traditional Face-to-Face classroom setting with the instructor present. However, supplemental information may be provided online and students may be required to complete/submit homework, quizzes, tests, etc. online.
Instruction is delivered online with no Face-to-Face interaction with the instructor scheduled. Instructors will be available to students via email and/or online discussion boards in addition to their regularly scheduled office hours. Proctored testing at an approved testing site may be required.
Instruction is delivered in a combination of Face-to-Face and Online delivery methods as defined above. Students will have assigned times and dates during which they will meet with the instructor in a traditional Face-to-Face classroom setting with the balance of the course being delivered in an online format.
Instruction is delivered in an interactive television enabled classroom. Typically, there will be students and an instructor in a traditional Face-to-Face classroom setting with additional students at one or more remote locations “linked in” via interactive television.
To meet the changing educational needs of its service area, Vernon College provides distance education opportunities to students with special scheduling needs, at remote locations, and at high schools and other regional centers.
Continuing Education encourages all students to register at least 1 week prior to the start of class. Some programs may have an application process with earlier registration deadlines. See course flier for details.
No, traditional financial aid does not cover continuing education classes. There are CE scholarships available for some classes that qualify based on financial need.
Vernon College is open Monday –Thursday from 8am-6pm and Fridays from 8am-12pm beginning August – May. Summer Hours are Monday –Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm, and closed Fridays. Please note that Vernon College will be closed for various holidays and staff development days.
A Vernon College scholarship may be available for certain programs. Scholarships are based on financial need and may pay a portion of qualifying tuition. Students may call or come to the CE office to see if a course qualifies for a scholarship and to pick up an application.
Once a course has begun Continuing Education cannot offer a refund. If a student does not meet the attendance policy for any reason and is dismissed from a program, a refund will not be available. If a student requests a refund at least one Vernon College business day prior to the start of class, a refund will be processed minus a $5.00 fee. A full refund is made if the class is cancelled by the college. Refund policy may be different for some programs; see program information for details.
