Between the third and sixth week of instruction, students may drop courses with the approval of the dean from both the student's major and the dean or equivalent of the school or unit offering the course. These changes are made via Enrollment Exceptions, which is available in Student Access.
All refunds are subject to a $25 non-refundable and non-transferable administrative fee per course except when a course is cancelled or rescheduled by UCI Division of Continuing Education.

For all classes at UCI, you may repeat only if your most recent grade was C- or below. For the first 16 units you repeat, the new grade replaces the old grade in the calculation of your GPA (even if the new grade is lower). The old grade still shows up on your UCI transcript, but it no longer affects your UC GPA.
A student who earns a grade of C (2.0) or better will have a Pass/Not Pass grade recorded as Pass. If the student earns a grade of C- or below, the grade will be recorded as a Not Pass, and no unit credit will be received for the course.
To receive a "P" for Pass and to get credit/units, you must earn a grade of "C" or better. However, if a course is taken for a letter grade, the minimum grade needed for credit would be at least a "D-" in most courses.
Students who earn their degrees in Summer Session, Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters, and the following Summer Session are eligible to have their name and major included in the Commencement Program. Once your application has been processed, you will receive an e-mail from our office asking you to accept your financial aid funds for 2022 Summer Session. After accepting your financial aid funds, then enroll in your Summer Session classes.
