Dropping a course from Summer Session is NOT an automatic process. If you are not attending a class, you need to submit and confirm the drop request through your online Summer Session account or submit a Course Change Request Form via DocuSign by the deadlines specified.
Log into CalCentral. Open the "My Dashboard" page. On the lower right-hand side of the page, you will see Student Resources > Submit a Form > Add a Withdrawal Request. You can drop a course with credit to your financial account up to two weeks into the semester or three days into the summer session. You will receive a full refund if the published deadlines are met (see Calendars for deadlines). No refund will be given after the published deadlines.
Courses may be dropped without academic approval through the end of the second week of instruction; these changes are made via WebReg.
All refunds are subject to a $35 non-refundable and non-transferable administrative fee per course except when a course is cancelled or rescheduled by UCI Division of Continuing Education. In the event a course is cancelled or rescheduled, a full refund of the course fee will be processed.
Drop Class Once enrolled in classes, you cannot drop below 0.5 units without permission. Contact your advisor for details. To drop a course, go to CalCentral > My Academics > Class Enrollment > Class Adjustment.
Withdrawals on transcripts The reason for withdrawal is confidential and does not appear on the official transcript. If you submit your form before the first day of instruction for the term, your request will be processed as a cancellation.
You must submit a withdrawal form on CalCentral > My Dashboard > Add a Withdrawal Request. Students will be charged a $10 late fee for each class dropped after the end of the second Friday of instruction (11:59 p.m. PST).

After the tenth day, a W will remain on your transcript. This denotes a withdraw from a class. This does not impact your GPA.
Dropping a Course Courses dropped after the last day to drop for the term and on or before the 60% date of the semester or term are considered withdrawals. Courses dropped during this period will result in a grade of "W."
