Overall, Lone Star College System is an easy school that works well with your schedule and wallet. Highly recommend if you aren't quite ready for a big campus or the "college life". It's affordable and located in a good area. The classes are relatively easy and they have great advisors!
In order to pass the class with a grade of C or better, a student must score at least 50% on the final exam and have an overall average of at least 70%. Students who do not take the final exam by the scheduled time, will receive a grade of 0 for the final exam to be used to calculate the students average.

To be eligible to participate in The Honors College at Lone Star College, you must meet one of the following eligibility requirements: A high school GPA of a 3.50 on a 4.0 scale.

Students named to Dean's List for fall semester. Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.
Obviously, your student will need to retake a course in which they have received an F if that course is a required course or a required prerequisite for another course which they need. A student who is retaking a course to improve their GPA needs to retake the course at their own institution.
