Some of the common reasons that would lead to a course to be deleted in Moodle include the following; • The Course is unused: If a course was preliminary created in Moodle, but it is not used anymore, the admin would be compelled to delete the course.
Go to Site Admin > Courses > Manages Categories and Courses. Select the Category the course was created in and then select the course you want to delete. In the panel on the right, (it usually is on the right), use the delete icon, the X, to the right of the course name, follow the prompts and say OK to everything.
You can select which user data to remove at a granular level under the categories of General, Roles, Gradebook, Groups and Activity data. Note: Only users with the reset course capability (by default managers and teachers) can reset a course.
If there are courses left in the category, you can move them to a different category, or you can delete them altogether. If you need to move the remaining courses to another Category, then you will simply select the category under the Move Into section, then click on Delete to perform the action.
