Some Continuing Education programs have course specific policies that differ from and supersede the refund policy below. The most common of these policies applies to most of our online and home study courses, and states that no refund will be given once a student has been given access to the course material.
o No Credit (NC) is reserved for D+, D, and F grades and is not considered a passing grade. If you choose CR/NC and receive “NC,” you will need to retake the course to earn credit, but it will not affect your GPA. A WU grade will also be recorded as a NC.
To enroll in a class on a CR/NC basis, the student must register for the class and then submit a request to change their grading option to CR/NC (refer to Grade Option Change Requests for instructions). Approval of the student's major advisor is required.
In our program, students can earn at least a "B" in all required courses (EDUI 6701 – 6707 & EDUI 6899), but can earn a lower grade in their two electives (EDUI 677x & EDUI 678x). However, the overall GPA must be a "B" (3.0 GPA). This information is also posted on the University's Latest Catalog.
Students who earned an unsatisfactory grade (i.e., C-, D+, D-, or E) the first time in a course can repeat that course for a grade if they have the dean's approval through CCAS. This approval is granted through the completion of the online Repeat Course Request Form.
The No Credit Option may negatively affect a student's PACE, as a No Credit grade decreases the percentage of the passing rate for courses completed/units attempted. Credit/No Credit options have no impact to GPA. GPA remains the same.
The letter grade D is considered passing since it lies between 60-69%. Any grade that is above 60% is considered passing in college.
Credit (CR) is assigned when you earn a grade of A to C- and it is a passing grade. You will earn credit for the course, but it will not affect or change your GPA. No Credit (NC) is reserved for D+, D, and F grades and is not considered a passing grade.
With a GPA of 3.2, Cal State East Bay accepts below-average students. It's OK to be a B-average student, with some A's mixed in. It'd be best to avoid C's and D's, since application readers might doubt whether you can handle the stress of college academics.
Your grade point average (GPA) is computed by dividing the total number of quality hours (units attempted), whether or not they were passed (but excluding "CR/NC" courses and those in which administrative grades were assigned except for the "WU"), into the number of quality (grade) points earned.
Most schools will accept credits in transfer from other institutions, but will not accept the grades to include in the GPA. If your student is retaking the course to complete a requirement, then they might consider retaking the course at another institution — perhaps at home during summer session.
What are the consequences of failing a class so many times? It would affect your GPA. If your GPA drops to 2.0 or below, you would be put on probation. Depending on the school you're attending, how long this probation period would be would differ.
It depends on how many quality points they earn for each grade. If the D is in a 1-credit-hour course, the student will earn a 3.76 GPA. If the A is in a 1-credit-hour course, they will earn a 3.3 GPA. Same grades, same total number of credit hours, but different weights based on the credit hours of the course.
If you are transferring from a California community colleges, typically the Transfer Center will have lists of courses that transfer to CSU campuses. In addition, ASSIST is California's official online service for determining how courses credits will transfer between institutions.
ASSIST is an online student-transfer information system that shows how course credits earned at one public California college or university can be applied when transferred to another. ASSIST is the official repository of articulation for ( i.e.
CSUEB does award credit for College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests. Accepted tests and necessary scores are outlined in the Academic Catalog. Course credit may be used to satisfy requirements in the major or GE, but not both.
Many courses in our catalog carry CEUs, a nationally recognized unit of measurement for any of a variety of nonacademic programs which may apply toward re-licensure, promotion, or career advancement.
For eligible students the Lifetime Learning Tax Credit is available at all educational and enrollment levels. The credit is based on the amount of qualified tuition and fees, less grants, and other tax-free educational assistance and the taxpayer's modified adjusted gross income.

You must satisfy the requirements listed on your admission documents in order to become a Classified Graduate student. You cannot take the capstone if you have not satisfied all of your prerequisites.
The graduate coordinator has no authority to override the waitlist for a course. The rollover from the waitlist to the class roster happens automatically as students drop the class. After the first week, the instructor can sign add forms, but this is almost always done in order of the waitlist. You may speak with the instructor about this. Do not wait until the end of your studies to attempt enrollment in a required course; finish these classes as soon as you can!
Students who have a limited number of unsatisfied prerequisites can still be accepted. The maximum number of unsatisfied prerequisites varies, but is currently 4. However, such students will be required to complete those prerequisites at the start of their program. When calculating the expected cost of the program, you must factor in the cost of these extra courses.
