NRA Basic Instructor Training is designed to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses.
Instructor candidates must be 21 years of age or older, must have completed the NRA Basic Pistol Training Course (or equivalent, such as OPOTA Training or LE/Military Pistol Training) and have experience in the shooting sports or other firearm-related activities (e.g. target shooting, hunting, etc.).
But for the rest of us, the 8-hour Ohio CCW training is required. This training is typically a basic pistol class and not a true draw from concealment training course. Ohio requires that at least 2 hours of the CCW training is on the range with live fire training.
