What is WCYou experience?

The WCYou Experience ( FYS 001) is designed to support students as they transition to West Coast University, by introducing and connecting them to the culture and expectations of the University through curricular and co-curricular topics created to build a foundation for student success. Within the First Year Seminar ( FYS 001) course, students will be provided information about campus services, resources, academic support, student life, and the WCU culture.

What happens if you don't complete WCYou?

If a student does not successfully complete FYS 001 due to drop, withdrawal or failure, the student will be enrolled in the course in their second term and must successfully complete the course at that time.

What is direction in WCU?

Direction is given and processing in place to make workday with less hurtles. IT side is progressing moving forward for the future. Not making things just work due to budget constraints staying on the cutting edge of technology even with COVID restrictions. When other company's are cutting cost WCU is reinvesting in technology.

Is West Coast University a good place to work?

West Coast University is a great place to work that offers competitive benefits and job stability. It is without a doubt that management cares for both staff and students. The position is monotonous, so once you understand the basics it is simply rinse and repeat.

Is dress code overstated in professional school?

For a Professional school; the dress code is overstated, management is relaxed and approachable, everyone is very friendly. They are however concerns with inter-office communication and management communication. Given the area, the salary is higher, but still low considering the cost per living and distance people go through to get to work. I think that most of us would benefit from working from home more than coming into the office.

Do they want you to work all the time?

They want you to work all the time. Nights and weekend flexibility is a requirement. They want your life to be about your job. Your personal life and needing a break isn't in their best interest

Do upper and executive leadership support the mission or the workers?

Upper and executive leadership do not support the mission or the workers. The bottom line is numbers. There are people in positions of power that know nothing about the educational experience and aren't willing to learn. There is constant change based on opinions vs. sound business decisions.
