The course home page is a specialized page that contains dynamic content arranged in modules. Instructors can customize the display of the home page by renaming the page, and by adding and removing modules. This tutorial will show you how to add a module, remove a module, and rename the home page.

Under the first option, Select Course Entry Point, choose the Course Menu item you want to be the entry point for the course from the drop-down list. Click Submit.

One of Blackboard 9.1's new features is the Home Page, an alternative course entry point to Announcements. It allows instructors to select and position Modules that notify students of assignments and new postings and may help them keep their coursework more organized.

Courses may not appear in the My Courses module in Blackboard for a few reasons: The instructor has not yet published the course for student view (most common reason). The student has not yet successfully registered and paid for the course. There may be an issue with the student's enrollment.

In the database explorer, select the folder or project where you want to create the module. Click File > New > Link Module. Type a name and description, select a mapping and then click OK.
The course menu is the panel on the left side of the interface that contains links to all top-level course areas. Instructors can also provide links to the tools page, individual tools, websites, course items, and module pages. Instructors control the content and tools available on the course menu.

The current course entry point for the Ultra Course View is the Course Content page. Blackboard is currently conducting research and developing a new course landing page that will include updates and notifications, similar to the current Home Page in the Original Course View. No timeline is available for development.

While Modlule Pages may be individually created as needed, the Course Home Page is a module page that is automatically created for all new course shells. By default, the automatically created page is named "Home Page" and contains modules such as "My Announcements," "What's New," "My Calendar," and "My Tasks.".
Use the tiny icons on the top of a Course Module to Manage, Collapse, or Close a module. The instructor may allow students to personalize their view. However, if personalization is not allowed, the instructor controls the student view entirely. Therefore, if the instructor closes the module, it is removed from the student view.
If you want another page to be Course Entry Point, see Course Design Settings. Course shells created before the switch to Blackboard 9 will not automatically include a Home Page.
