Navigate to Records and Enrollment > Enroll Students > Enrollment Requests, then select the term (semester or session) and home college for which you wish to create an ePermit request. Select the option to “Add ePermit with Equivalent Courses.” Browse the Course Catalog to search by subject for ePermit courses.
If the ePermit is for a course that has an equivalent at your home college, you will select ‘add ePermit with Equivalent Courses’ and follow this set of instructions; if your course does not have an equivalent at your home college please skip ahead to number 8 for instructions.
Courses taken on permit must meet a specific degree requirement. A newly admitted undergraduate or graduate student prior to completing their first term at the Home college with the minimum GPA. Make sure you apply for e-permit before the deadline.
An ePermit allows you to take courses at other CUNY institutions. You still pay all tuitions and fees to Hunter College. The ePermit application can be found on the Student Center page on CUNYfirst. Remember to register at the college you will attend.
E-permit approvals cannot be saved (or applied) to a different class, college, session, or term. If you need to make changes after approval is granted, please refer to the Cancellation section below for instructions on how to Cancel Approved ePermits.

Understanding ePermit: Home versus Host College. Home College – The college in which students are matriculated (pursuing a degree). Host College – The college in which students would take classes in order to transfer the credits back to the home college.
CUNY ePermit allows students to request permission from their home college to take some classes at other CUNY host colleges only. E-Permit can be found as an online form in CUNYfirst. Some Baruch students may apply for their ePermit via their Student Center.

If the home college grants permission, the status of the form will update to approved. The host college’s decision will not be reflected on the form. Shortly after, the system will notify the host college to review the request on their end.
