Adding Guests to Blackboard Courses
Visitors to the course should be given a Guest role when you want them to see the course materials in Content Areas and Course Announcements, but NOT interact with others in the course or to safe guard student privacy. Users with Guest roles do not have accounts in MacEwan's Blackboard and usually do not have MacEwan network accounts.
If you do want add a Guest to a course, you'll need to "turn on" Guest access in your course. Find Customization in the Course Management Panel, click Guest and Observer Access, click " Yes " beside Allow Guests and click Submit.
Click on the Users and Groups area of the Control Panel. Click on Users. Click Find Users to Enroll. TIP: The search field on the main Users page will ONLY look at your current roster, not the Blackboard directory of users to add someone new.
For many different reasons, it may be helpful to add teaching assistants, second instructors, or guests into you Blackboard courses. Instructors that are co-listed on the Schedule of Classes will be automatically enrolled into the shell.

The guest link is a public link that can be used and shared by anyone who has it. If you want to keep your session secure, don't use guest links. To learn more, see session security. Guest access is off by default. Clear the Guest access check box to turn it on.

Guests in a course can include guest lecturers, potential students, or other users who aren't directly participating in your course.
Select Yes for Allow Guests. The Guest role is not supported at this time in the Ultra Course View. If you want someone to have minimal access to your Ultra course, you must add them to your Ultra course and use the Interpreter role.
