Accelerated degree programs offer shorter classes with more flexibility. Rather than only offering classes twice a year, students can take them whenever they fit into their schedule. They are also often compressed into sessions that are five to 10 weeks in length, instead of 16 weeks.
Accelerated study is the process of reducing the time it takes to acquire a degree by getting college credit for life and work experiences, testing out of courses, and using accelerated online classes to graduate faster.

RRCC Online Classes provide Red Rocks students with the opportunity to take classes from home. Students log in to a dedicated server and ask questions of their teachers, share information with fellow students, and complete reading assignments, homework, and tests.
Learning Communities are two courses blended into one longer one. It is a convenient and interesting approach where objectives from two areas are blended to compliment one another. Learning Communities are not always offered each semester.
Most courses follow a traditional semester schedule, and many also have accelerated seven-week online sections. They offer regular communication with faculty and fellow students who may be anywhere in the world.
Accelerated Courses. An accelerated course takes the content from a traditional 15-week, 3- or 4-credit class and compresses it into a shorter time frame. Accelerated classes are 3 or more credits and meet for less than the traditional 15-week semester. Classroom and online classes are available.
Self-paced courses provide flexibility and the opportunity to study when students have the most time. Most instructors will meet with their students at the beginning of the semester, and then students will send assignments back and forth via traditional mail, drop-in, or email.
Remote Courses. A class that has remote both online and remote learning elements. The course will meet online synchronously (the day (s) of the week will be published in the schedule of classes). Instructors and students log-in on specific days and times for class. Remote classes should meet during the scheduled times.
Weekend Courses. If you work, have a family, or want something interesting to do on Friday nights, Saturdays, and/or Sundays, Weekend classes are for you. You can work on a college degree, take classes for fun, or brush up on skills you need for your job. Many weekend classes can be completed in as little time as a day.
Traditional hybrid courses will require students to be on campus and face-to-face for a portion of their coursework and engage with the remainder remotely asynchronously (the other days of the week will not be published in the schedule of classes).

Withdraw from a class – The last day a student can remove him/herself from a class and receive a “W” for the class instead of a grade. The student is responsible for payment.
Certain classes meet outside of the regular semester dates. Drop and withdrawal dates vary for each of these classes, depending on the starting date and the length of the class. Check your detailed student schedule for drop and withdrawal dates. Courses are subject to change without notice.
Tuition and fees are charged at the beginning of the semester and will remain in place regardless of any changes in instructional format. Tuition and fees will not be refunded in the event the curriculum delivery format changes for any part of the 2021-22 academic year.
