Jam offers online courses for kids. Jam claims to have “hacked learning.” That’s a bold statement, but it does come somewhat close to what Jam has achieved. The company offers online courses for kids, aiming to teach young people skills that they most likely are not learning in school.
That’s one of the many reasons why I say JamPlay is one of the most comprehensive courses available online. It’s not just because of the number of videos but because of the variety of lessons you can learn. I can honestly say that this is an all-encompassing course. Let’s be real, Phase 3 is what we’re all here for!
That’s a bold statement, but it does come somewhat close to what Jam has achieved. The company offers online courses for kids, aiming to teach young people skills that they most likely are not learning in school. There are courses for both “younger kids” and “older kids,” and some of the courses for older kids seem fun for, well, much older kids.
If parents do pay and students finish courses, they’re also awarded certificates. Jam also has an iPhone app, so they can complete their courses from a mobile device. There’s a ton of great content on Jam, and hopefully the company will be better preparing children for future careers or hobbies.

Phase 2 – Genre Specific and Skill Based Lessons. Phase 2 is where JamPlay starts to really shine. They have a vast collection of music styles to learn that is just incredible. Whichever genre (s) you choose to play, you will be in a gold mine of tutorials.
The live lessons are great because they literally take the place of having a private guitar teacher right next to you. Often these live webcam sessions are “open discussion” which means you can come with questions you have on difficult topics. It’s just as good as having a real live guitar teacher. That’s part of the reason JamPlay is so helpful – it’s the best of both worlds.
You’ll notice in the pic above that there are several headings – My JamPlay, Lessons, Live, Tools, Community, Extras.
BUT – the bass guitar lessons are actually an extra subscription and do not come included with the normal JamPlay membership.
There are a couple of online courses that I have also tried, and JamPlay is one of the best (if not the best) guitar tutorial online.
Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of private teachers – they’re expensive and they aren’t as versatile in their style/skill as what’s available online.
