15 credit hoursFull-time undergraduate and visiting students are capped at 15 credit hours for summer sessions and four credit hours for winter sessions. Special permission is required to take a course overload of more than 15 credits during summer sessions and four credits during winter session.

Montclair State offers merit based Presidential Scholarships for high achieving incoming first-year students. Presidential Scholarships are highly competitive and awarded based on your academic academic achievement in high school.
Undergraduate students taking 12 – 18 credit hours will be charged a flat tuition rate. Tuition is charged on a per credit hour basis for undergraduate students taking fewer than 12 credit hours. If a student has more than 18 credits, the flat tuition rate plus the regular per credit hour rate for each credit hour over 18 applies.
Lifelong Education students are not assessed Student Taxes.
