Full-time status requires a minimum of 12 credit hours. Students with conditional or restricted status or those who are on academic warning or probation may enroll in no more than 16 credit hours. 19 credit hours is the maximum permitted without applying for a course overload. A successful audit (earning a grade of P) removes grade points while maintaining credit hours. Each professor determines the rules for an audit, but attendance is required for all audits. Failing an audit counts as a failed class toward grade point average. Discuss audit options with your Academic Advisor.

In order to receive pass/fail credit for education abroad courses, the transferring institution must send the grade report in the form of pass/fail without letter grades. Education abroad grades are received directly from program providers and institutions abroad and cannot be reported by the participant.

Please remember that while there are many education abroad scholarships available, they are very competitive and no one is guaranteed a scholarship. Scholarships should be considered a supplement to a pre-existing strategy for financing your education abroad since it is likely you will not be awarded enough money to cover your full program fee. Seniors at Murray State University who are within nine hours of completing the baccalaureate degree, who have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, and are meeting all undergraduate GPA requirements, may be admitted to graduate study provided they meet departmental and general admission requirements. Seniors admitted on this basis are considered graduate students, and will be charged graduate tuition for all courses scheduled. If you are enrolled in full semester classes only and withdraw during the 1st five days of the semester, your record will indicate only a withdrawal date, with no grades. Beginning the 6th day of the semester, there will be "W" grades, non-punitive, on your academic record.
