Information for taking a course pass-fail can be found in the online catalog under Satisfactory-Unsatisfactory (S-U) Grade Option. The S-U Option form is available on the UF Registrar’s website. Students must submit the approved form by the deadline for the current term. Deadlines are available in the online catalog.
How can I prove that I am a student at UF? Enrollment verifications may be obtained through the National Student Clearinghouse, which provides an instant enrollment verification. For currently enrolled students, enrollment verifications are available after the official drop/add period has ended for the semester.
All students must receive the approval of the dean of the UF College offering the course before they can register for non-degree course work except for students participating in programs sponsored by the UF International Center. The application will be electronically forwarded to the UF College requested on the application for approval.
To access your application summary you will have to have your temporary username and password from when you created your application. Applicants who have submitted a complete application and all supporting materials by the required deadlines will receive an admissions decision. UF releases decisions on the last Friday in February for our priority round applicants and on the last Friday in March for our space-available applicants.
Grades and Grading Policies There is no standard grading scale at UF. For general purposes, passing grades are A, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D- and S. Failing grades are E and U. However, note that C- is not a passing grade for courses in the major, General Education, or Gordon Rule credit.
“Withdraw” means to remove all classes from your current schedule. A “W” will be posted on your transcript for dropped or withdrawn classes. A “W” grade does not affect your grade point average. Students are allowed two drops in the first 60 hours of enrollment at UF, and two additional drops after 60 hours.

Repeat Course Work Students who entered UF with credit for Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses who then repeat the equivalent course at UF will receive a grade for the UF course and no credit for the prior work. Each grade computed in grade point average; credit earned only once.
Critical-tracking criteria usually include a minimum GPA (UF or overall, depending on the college), completion of certain courses toward the major (critical-tracking or preprofessional courses) and a minimum GPA in the critical-tracking courses (tracking or preprofessional GPA).

Post-baccalaureate students will have their status evaluated based on the information given to SFA from the Office of the University Registrar (OUR). Post-baccalaureate students must meet the same academic requirements as undergraduates, as specified above.
