Except for a handful of exceptions, all articulated courses must first be transferable. It is important to remember, however, that not all transferable courses are articulated for major or GE and may simply transfer as elective units.

Students may apply for a TAG to one UC campus per academic year. A TAG is not required for applicants to be considered for admission to UC. Students who are not eligible for a TAG may still apply to UC through the regular admissions process.
Each course must be worth at least 3 semester units (or 4-5 quarter units) and be UC-transferable. Check ASSIST to see what courses from your community college are transferable. You need to earn a grade of C or better in each course or a Pass (P) grade if pass is equivalent to a C (2.00).
A course that is University of California (UC) transferable is accepted for credit at any University of California campus. The University of California Office of the President determines if a course is UC transferable. At Irvine Valley College, course numbers 1-99 transfer to any UC campus.
Is it possible to transfer to a UC in one year with TAG? o Yes, but it is much harder as there are additional requirements to obtain a TAG agreement since it guarantees your major as well. Only TAG if the student already has 20 semester credits.
Table 3 provides the average GPA of De Anza applicants, admits and enrollees to the UC system. Focusing on the top three UC campuses students transferred to (i.e. Davis, San Diego and Berkeley), the average GPA of enrolled students were 3.46, 3.60 and 3.77, respectively.

Kinesiology (KNES) courses include activity and lecture courses for all students. Physical Education (PE) courses generally require competitive experience at the high school, club or collegiate levels and consent of instructor. Although UC does not have preapproved formal agreements on transferable coursework outside of the California community college system , general units or credits from a regionally accredited college or university are transferable if a course is comparable to one offered at a UC campus.
UC courses must be repeated at UC, but not necessarily at the original campus.
College credit for literature in the native language is allowed only for courses taken in native institutions of college grade or for upper division and graduate courses actually taken at UC or at another institution of approved standing where the language of instruction is English.
A student is allowed to repeat each course in which a C-, D+, D, F or NP grade was originally earned , as many times as necessary, until the first time he or she earns a letter grade of C or better. The following rules apply:
