“You can email the professor early to tell them you’re crashing, which can increase your chances,” says Paul Rubin, a third-year Business-Economics major. “If there’s a wait list you can show up for a day, get your name on that, and wait until they tell you if you are in or not.”
If you really need to get into a class, crash the sections that are the least popular or have the most spaces, which are usually early in the morning, late at night, and on Fridays.
As a freshman, you will be competing against upper-classmen who may need the same classes to graduate. That’s where dedication, perseverance, and a working alarm clock come in handy:.“If you really want to crash a class, there is usually someone who doesn’t want that class,” says Lara Stone, a third-year Environmental Studies major.
Ask about the possibility of formally auditing the class or even just sitting in on the lectures. Some professors may even offer to grade your homework and exams. You may be able to list the class on your transcript or test out of it in the future. Consider crashing other courses.
If the class you are interested in has more open seats, or if we open a new section of that class, you will be notified. Follow the steps below to look for open classes.
Waitlists for closed classes expire on the day before the class begins. Due to COVID restrictions, classes must not go over their maximum registration. If a class you are interested in is full or started, please complete our online form and if there are seats available we will provide an add code.
Beginner drivers will learn everything from the very basics and up, including how to start, stop and steer the car.
Taking Your Practical Test. The final step in your journey is taking your practical test. Whilst it might seem a bit daunting, there’s no need to panic. Having just completed your course, your newly-acquired skills will be fresh in your mind, giving you the best possible chance of passing.
You can even opt for a semi-intensive course structure to get the best of both worlds. In most cases, the instructor will be able to pick you up from your house (or other preferred location).
