He probably could have been in the hero course if the entrance exam didn't involve fighting flipping robots with no brains that Shinso can't do anything about. All of class 1A took the entrance exam and passed, with their blood, sweat, and tears as proof.
And as for the practical entrance exam, it’s skewed against Shinso because his quirk doesn’t work on robots, so that’s not at all a fair indicator of how well he would have performed. Point being, saying Shinsou doesn’t work hard because he lost in a fight to Midoriya (who is in fact physically fit and competent) is stupid.
Shinsou is one of the most interesting character in the series. I think he is training in martial arts and how to utilize his quirk with Aizawa. Can't wait for his return. Wonder how Ojiro will react to his return. Got a feeling he will play a role in finding out the traitor. Horikoshi been teasing Shinso for a while now.

With the latest chapter of the series closing out the final match between the two classes, the debriefing the followed confirmed that yes, Shinso will be fully transferring into the Hero Course in his second year.

Minoru Mineta has become a bit of a running joke in My Hero Academia. Mineta’s Pop Off Quirk is admittedly quite versatile and the full extent of its powers have yet to be fully shown.
Koji Koda is a bit of an anomaly, and he’s a character who is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to step into the spotlight and save the day. Koda’s Anivoice Quirk allows him to communicate with animals, which has been helpful during several nature-based expeditions, but it’s never functioned as the crucial ingredient for success.
A lot of Class 1-B’s students get satisfying showcases during the events of the series’ Joint Training Exercise, and even though Pony Tsunotori participates, she still comes across as a bit of a cipher. Pony benefits from her Horn Cannon Quirk, which is enough to overwhelm beginner heroes who aren’t especially agile or fast.

Hitoshi is a young man with messy, indigo-colored hair that flares out in large tufts around his head and notably straight teeth. His eyes are purple with white pupils, and are thin and somewhat triangular in shape, pointing downward, with no visible eyelashes. They're usually half-closed, and he has very dark eye bags underneath them.
