You can add a file to your course by uploading a file. You can also import files using the course import tool in Course Settings. As an instructor, you can drag and drop files from your personal files into course files. Learn more about files. Canvas does not support file uploads larger than 5 GB.

Click the "Choose source folder" button and choose the folder you want to copy into this folder by either typing its name or locating it on the drop down menu that appears. You must have instructor access to the linked Canvas course on the folder you choose.
On the Design Tools menu, Select Create/Edit Content, and then select Copy Existing Content. In the "Copy page content by URL" box, paste the content page URL that you copied earlier, and then click the retrieve page icon to the right of the text box.

Select the location of your file. You can take a new photo from your camera [1], find a file in your photo gallery [2], or search your device for a file [3].
Once your file has been selected, it will display in the Attachments window [1]. To remove the file, tap the Remove icon [2]. To add another file, tap the destination for the file [3].

Depending on how large your course is, this process may take several minutes to complete. You will be able to see the progress under the "Current Jobs" section of the Import Content page.
You can add new or existing content items in Canvas to a module. You can also add an item to multiple modules, or multiple iterations of an item to one module. When you add items to a Module, please be aware that the status of the Module overrides the state of the individual module items.
Canvas will accept most media files as uploads. However, not all media files can be played within Canvas. Uploaded files are automatically published and also display in Course Files. When adding a restricted file type to a Module, please be aware that restricted files act as published files and may be viewable to students.
Course files include any content uploaded to a course. If your instructor allows you to view the Files link in Course Navigation, you can view the files in your course.
All published course files can be viewed by all course users [1]. However, some files may restrict access to specific users. You can preview and download all published files in Course Files. If you want to see the files for all your courses, click the All My Files link [2].
In the Export Type heading, click the Course radio button [1]. Click the Create Export button [2].
View the progress bar. Exporting a course in Canvas may take a few minutes, depending on its size. You will receive an email when the export is complete.
