The Single Subject Credential authorizes teaching in one subject area of the curriculum. This credential is required for almost all high school and middle school positions and for a few elementary “specialist” positions. The credential is offered in the following areas: art, English, music, physical education, world languages, and social studies.
Students can communicate with their instructors and advisors in a variety of ways: email, telephone, chat room office hours and/or videoconference.
The B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism program focuses on the people skills, problem solving skills and creativity needed to be an excellent hospitality professional. Understanding why people are seeking “the good life” is critical to delivering superior services that bring the guest back for return visits. Enjoy the many benefits of an online education at Cal State East Bay, including:
As a student enrolled in one of our online courses, you will use a course management system called Blackboard for all your online classes. Blackboard is a richly complex computer application that allows you to experience the same great education you would receive in class, but from anywhere in the world.
This application must be completed EVERY term that a student wishes to enroll into courses through Open University. Starting January 26, 2021, all students, including Open University, who are NOT on a wait list and trying to enroll into a CBE undergraduate course, must submit the Request for CBE Permission Form.
It is important that students complete the prerequisites for each course so that they can be well-prepared and set themselves up for success. Students may be administratively dropped if you do not meet course requirements. Permission numbers may be required if prerequisites were completed outside of CSUEB.
Click "add a class" select the correct term and appropriate class search criteria; then follow the prompts. If the class is already full, you may be prompted to add your name to the waitlist. Confirm the class does not have restrictions or require departmental permission.
MyCSUEB is a separate system and is not linked to Blackboard. When you use Blackboard you will need to login as normal. When is MyCSUEB available? MyCSUEB is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week. There will be a short window of "down time" for system maintenance each night similar to Blackboard.
Do I need any special software to access MyCSUEB when I'm off campus-like a VPN? Since PeopleSoft is a web-based system, you do not need any special software to access MyCSUEB when you are off campus. You can access the system from any computer that is connected to the Internet—and you do not need to use a VPN.
