I believe I achieved my objective of learning new professional skills. However since I was not able to finish my internship at SNUG I do not feel like I achieved the objective of being able to reach out to the youth in the community as well as learning to network with new organizations. However I am confident I will be able to achieve these goals through new opportunities in the near future

I think this experience shows me resilience because although I was not able to accomplish my initial goals at SNUG due to an inappropriate work environment, I was able to continue my volunteer work through other means of service such as grading journals as a TA and taking part in Relay for Life and other community service events

I wanted to take this course because community service is very important to me. I am an active member of the community service co-ed fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and our core values are leadership, friendship, and service. Also, making a positive difference in the lives of others is a value that has been taught to me by my parents since I was a child. This is why I hope to pursue a career as a health psychologist. Prior to coming to SUNY Albany I had volunteered for soup kitchens, and animal shelters. Since I have decided I want to become a a psychologist who offered counseling, I figured SNUG would be the perfect organization because I would be able to experience what it was like to be out of my comfort zone in terms of who I was interacting with and I would be introduced to different cultures, stories, and experiences

No unfortunately my CPSP experience did not apply to my future or educational goals.
