Nintendo maintains a Code of Conduct that allows it to remove Super Mario Maker 2 courses for a number of reasons, including exploitation of in-game bugs, inappropriate content "such as offensive language," and explicit advertising or promotional materials.
David Hunt, a popular Mario speedrunner who goes by GrandPooBear online, noted this morning that his level "Pile of Poo: Kai-Zero G" had been unceremoniously removed from Nintendo's Super Mario Maker 2 servers.
Nintendo's move comes as Reddit user zach2thefuture reports his Super Mario Maker 2 level, "Storm Area 51," was also removed for "inappropriate or harmful content."
In an email from Nintendo that GrandPooBear shared on Twitter, the company cites "inappropriate and/or harmful content" as the reason for the removal of "Kai-Zero G," which represents the company's "final decision" on the matter. Today, the course is gone. It was one of the most-played Super Expert levels in the game, as evidenced by the fact that most prominent Mario Maker 2 players have promoted it. The reason cited, according to Nintendo, is “harmful or inappropriate content,” which does not track with the actual material in the upload.

Super Mario Maker will be removed from the Nintendo eShop on Jan. 12, 2021, in accordance with the change. If we're starting from the main screen, select 'Play' and then 'Course World'. Once into the next screen, you'll need to click on the magnifying glass that says ID, just above your Avatar Maker and below the three lines in the top-right corner. Input the Course ID and away you go!
How to Download. In order to download a level once you've found it, simply select it and it will expand a bit. At the bottom of this area a Download button will appear. Simply press this button and you'll be taken to the download storage screen.
Getting your course ID When in the Course World menu just press the Y Button to access your profile. From there you will tab over to uploaded courses and then select the course you want to get the ID for. Once you select the course you will see the course ID near the bottom right of the level card on the screen.

As of March 31, 2021, it is no longer be possible to upload courses in the Super Mario Maker game for the Wii U system. On the same day, the Super Mario Maker Bookmark website was also closed. As a result, Super Mario Maker for the Wii U system was removed from Nintendo eShop on January 12, 2021.
