Though the Academy provides districts and their students a part-time outlet for courses they may need to reach graduation at their home school district through the Edmentum Academy accredited program and individual courses the Academy does not provide actual graduation certificates for students. (Student's home districts provide this service).
Edmentum Academy personnel is available daily 8am to 5pm. The average student-teacher ratios and teacher loads for full-time and part-time teachers by grade level bands K-3, 4-8 and 9-12 and for core and elective courses is 35 to 1 at all levels. Edmentum’s Academy overall completion rate is 80% and the overall Passing Rate is 86%.
The Distance Learning approval process assures Edmentum courses are aligned to Common Core State Standards, facilitated by state-certified teachers, and are vetted for quality and rigor.
In this program, students and parents are responsible for tracking progress to make sure that all requirements for all courses are met by the deadline. This document explains how to monitor progress. Go to https://login.edmentum.com/ and log in. When a first student logs in, all courses will show on the home screen.
The Course Grade shows the average of all required assignments and will include a 0% score for each of the assignments not yet completed. Remember that any course that does not meet all requirements will show as an I (incomplete) on the transcript even if the current and/or course grade show as passing.
Edmentum displays two grades for each course: ● Current Grade - Defines coursework completed and scored to date. Course Grade - Is the overall grade based on all activities within the course (complete and incomplete).
Feel free to take notes or pictures of these to help you with your mastery tests. You can also look online for more information if anything is unclear. Often times the tutorials will ask you to complete some kind of activity or check point. Do not spend a lot of time on these since they are not graded.

Once you login to Edmentum you will arrive at what is referred to as the “Sensei” dashboard. An overview of this dashboard can be found by clicking “Help Center – Sensei Overview” on the right when logged in as a teacher. From this area you can see student Alerts, Unlock mastery tests, and view student progress.

With our certified teachers to help students stay on track, students are given 18 weeks to complete a (semester-long) course. However, for those learners taking diplomas, students are given four years from enrolling to achieve the preset requirements and finish their high school graduation program.
A retake can be requested as early as the following day. EdOptions Academy teachers cannot reset end of semester tests. To reset the end of semester test, contact the Academy Support team at 866-890-8153, option 4.
Professors Bumping Up a Grade from Extra Credit Some professors will let you know either at the beginning of their course or at some point during the course that there are specific opportunities for extra credit. This is an excellent and fair way for a professor to bump up a student's grade.
A drop in grades could also indicate a serious problem such as substance abuse, or might be caused by an undiagnosed condition such as ADHD, problems with hearing or sight, or a learning disability.

When a first student logs in, all courses will show on the home screen. The progress bar for each course gives a quick overview of the assignments that have been completed. However, some completed assignments may need to be redone if the minimum required score was not earned.
In the top right corner of the course there is a "Current Grade" and a "Course Grade." The Current Grade shows only the average of all assignments that the student has completed so far. The Course Grade shows the average of all required assignments and will include a 0% score for each of the assignments not yet completed.
Students and parents will want to verify that all assignments in all units and folders are green.
