Legal proceedings have begun to foreclose on Pine Burr Country Club in Wiggins. The 18-hole golf course had faced financial difficulties for some time and is slated to go to auction on the Stone County Courthouse steps Feb. 28. Preston Carpenter, who holds the mortgage, said he could no longer carry the note on the property.
