Who reads the evaluations of instructors?

While this may vary significantly from institution to institution, my understanding is that, in the US at least, evaluations are at least read by: Others in the department who are evaluating the instructor, e.g., as part of tenure and promotion review, as part of peer mentoring, as part of a departments' own ongoing self-management.

Can professors tell if you've completed a course evaluation?

I know they can definitely tell whether you've completed it or not. I had a professor last semester offer extra credit to anyone who completed the course eval. I'm not sure if they can see what specifically each person said. From what I've been told they don't get those evaluations back for quite awhile.

Can we see who has finished the evaluation?

We can see who has finished the evaluation, but do not get the evaluations until after grades are submitted. Usually a few weeks after the grades are submitted. Note that pleas to help you pass in course evaluations are not useful.

What if I am assigned an evaluation for a course I am not?

If you are assigned an evaluation for a course that you are not teaching or have not been assigned to a course that you are teaching, please contact the person in your department who is responsible for maintaining faculty teaching assignments in Peoplesoft/SOLAR.

Emails are generated to students from the course evaluation system when evaluations open and a reminder is sent before they close. In addition, the students see the login and reminder every time they log into their D2L. We also depend on faculty to remind their students.
