Rock Creek Country Club is a premiere Northwest golf course, established in the late 1950's. As the Rock Creek community began to grow, a golf course was designed and built to service the local area and to enhance the scenic landscape. The designers envisioned an affordable public golf club with a private country club experience.
In 1975 , a new group of investors purchased the club and the course become private. The years that followed saw many improvements: The practice areas were revamped, a pump was purchased to help with drainage and the current clubhouse location was built as well as a separate pro shop.

There is also some confusion as to who designed the course. Longtime locals say it was Tom Bartol. Some websites have it as William Sander (who designed Bayou GC). Other publications have it as George H. Otten and George W. Otten. I tend to favor William Sander because he was an active designer at the time and the others do not appear to have been (George H. having done most of his course design work in the 1920s).

Established as Grant-Kohrs Ranch by Conrad Kohrs and John Bielenberg in 1866.
The land east of the original ranch house was purchased on July 1, 1919 for $100,000 by Charles H. Williams and Peter Pauly of Deer Lodge. Pauly and his wife immigrated to the United States in the late 19th Century from the city of Pau, near the Pyrenees in France.
Thus was born the historic Grant-Kohrs Ranch, near what is now Deer Lodge, Montana. The original Grant-Kohrs Ranch was established when Conrad Kohrs, in partnership with his half brother, John Bielenberg, purchased land from Canadian fur trader, John Grant in 1866.
