The financial journal hasn't posted its story online, but it reports that Mickelson and his agent, Steve Loy, will pay just $20 for the bankrupt club and its Jay Morrish-designed golf course, fitness center and 25-acre cactus farm.
“We were very impressed with the Arcis leadership team and their commitment to their members and guests, and we look forward to continuing our business relationship.” The properties Arcis has acquired are three private clubs: The Stone Canyon Club in Oro Valley.
And now entering his golden years, Mickelson is considering leaving his long-time home in Rancho Santa Fe, California, and moving to the golf capital of the world, namely Jupiter, Florida.

While Stone Canyon is located in Tucson, home to rival University of Arizona, Mickelson loved the property and imagined adjustments he could make to increase its playability. So when the price was right, in 2014, Mickelson added Stone Canyon to his portfolio of courses.
The total portfolio sales price was undisclosed; The Stone Canyon asset, according to public records, sold for $9 million.
Mickelson is an executive producer for "The Match," so he most likely had a say in giving himself the role as commentator for this edition.
One of Stone Canyon Club's most well-known holes is No. 18, called Canyon Shadows. Phil Mickelson, owner of Stone Canyon Club, will host a star-studded made-for-TV event, “The Match: Champions for Change”, on Nov. 27.
All membership categories are non-equity and consist of the following initiation fees and monthly dues: Golf Membership – $55,000 Initiation with Monthly Dues of $975. Jr. Membership – $7,500 Initiation with Monthly Dues of $575.
Turner SportsTurner Sports has televised all five iterations of the event. Since 2020, two iterations of The Match have been held each year, one in the spring and the other on Thanksgiving weekend.
