What is good academic standing? Students are considered to have good academic standing (green) if they: successfully complete 50% or more of the credit points in which they are enrolled; and. maintain a cumulative career Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.5.
GPA of 6 and 7 are considered as an excellent score in Australian universities and among Australian employers. GPA of 6 or 7 means Distinction or Higher Distinction.
Fail grades are included in your trimester GPA and cumulative GPA. You may be eligible for exclusion if you fail the same course three times.
If you fail the same course or course rule four times, your enrolment in your program will be terminated. If your enrolment in a program is terminated due to repeat fails in a course or course rule, you have the right to appeal that termination to the Re-Enrolment Appeal Committee.
Retaking a course may raise your student's GPA (grade point average). In many schools, if a student retakes a course, the most recent grade will replace the lower grade in the student's GPA. The earlier, lower grade will remain on the transcript, but will not be included in the GPA.
