Registration is open for all admitted and current students interested in taking winter 2022 classes at Macomb Community College. Classes begin Jan. 10. Our Admissions Team is here to help you figure it out! Admission is open to any citizen or permanent resident of the United States. Students under 18 years of age must have a high school degree, GED, or be admitted to the college under a dual- enrollment, early college partnership or Early College of Macomb program.
If there is a direct course equivalency, Macomb Community College will accept transfer credit for coursework satisfactorily completed at an accredited college or university (with a grade of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+ or C) or an equivalent 2.0 or higher based on a 4.0 scale.
A no-show is a student who does not attend class or make any attempt to contact his or her instructor during the first full week of the semester. You are expected to attend class beginning the first day of the semester.
A minimum of 60 credit hours with at least a 2.0 grade point average is required. A minimum of 15 credit hours must be earned at Macomb.
120 creditsA bachelor's degree takes 120 credits, which is around 40 courses. Typically, earning a bachelor's degree takes 4 years, but depending on your previous education and whether you're a full- or part-time student, it may take a shorter or longer length of time.
60 semesterIn accordance with commonly held standards, the minimum requirement for an associate degree is 60 semester or 90 quarter credits. It is understood that institutions may use other terms (e.g., hours, courses) to express equivalent student accomplishment.

If the student does not have enough “E” grades, the College then will deduct the “D” grades from the grade point calculation until the student has an overall 2.00 grade point average. No more than thirty (30) credit hours can be deducted from the calculation of the overall grade point average.
A student who elects the same course more than once will have the better grade counted in determining grade point average (GPA) however, both course grades will remain on the student’s record. The computer will assign an R to the course with the lowest grade.
Academic Renewal, when granted, applies only to Macomb Community College courses. There is no guarantee, expressed or implied, that academic renewal will be recognized by any other college or university.

A student will be placed on probation status if an appeal has been approved. This status will continue until the end of the appeal approval period provided the requirements put forth by the committee are met.
A student who fails to maintain satisfactory academic progress will be placed on warning for the next semester he/she enrolls for classes. This is a warning to the student that he/she must meet the College’s satisfactory progress standards (2.0 cumulative GPA and a cumulative completion rate of at least 67%) during the next semester of enrollment. If the student meets the standards, he/she will be placed at a satisfactory status the next time the satisfactory academic progress calculations are processed.
