Overton Park Conservancy and the City of Memphis are embarking on a major renovation of the park’s historic golf course. The Conservancy will oversee dramatic improvements to revitalize and reimagine the nine-hole course.

Alister MacKenzie gets credit for most of the design work that makes Palmetto what it is today. He made the 20-mile trip to Palmetto in 1932, shortly after building the layout for Augusta National. He was hired to change the sand greens to grass and to lengthen the course.

The outdoor pool at the Old Overton Club sets a relaxing scene all summer long. While the kids swim, adults can sip on cocktails or savor one of our Chef’s specialities. With a six lane competitive pool and shallow areas for young swimmers, the pool complex is a refreshing getaway for members and their families.
Renovation began in January 2021 and will conclude late summer of 2021. While the course will be closed during this time, the clubhouse will remain open to the public, except for a period of time when it too would be closed for renovations.
