Donald RossSeminole Golf Club is a private golf club in the southeastern United States, located in North Palm Beach, Florida. Designed by Donald Ross in 1929, it is consistently ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the nation.
BP Linx, LLCAtlanta, GA (April XX, 2021) – BP Linx, LLC, a company owned by a local Bay Point family, recently acquired ownership of Bay Point Golf Club, the only Nicklaus Design course in Northwest Florida, as well as Bar 72, the restaurant on the property.
While Ross had the reputation of mailing in many of his blueprints to be built by others, there are newspaper clippings that document his presence on site supervising construction of Seminole, which was built in seven months and opened Jan. 1, 1930.
Overview. A majestic Donald Ross design with a clever routing on a rectangular site, each hole at Seminole encounters a new wind direction. The greens are no longer Ross, replaced 50 years ago in a regrassing effort that showed little appreciation for the original rolling contours. The bunkers aren't Ross either.
One of the most famous behind-the-scenes men in golf, Jimmy Dunne, is the president of the club. He gets to play with Phil Mickelson at the annual Pro-Member. Of course, there are numerous members who aren't world famous. Or those who we just haven't deemed famous quite yet.
Seminole Golf Club (Florida) The Donald Ross course is located along steep sand ridges near the Atlantic Ocean. With only 300 members, the club is so exclusive it even turned down golf legend Jack Nicklaus.
What makes Seminole so great? Al Jamieson (Panelist since 2013; has played 60 of the World Top 100): Obviously, its history, privacy and culture greatly enhance a classic Golden Age course. It's a very enjoyable member's course while presenting a good test to the very skilled, especially in the wind.
No denim slacks, skirts, T-shirts or shorts of any kind are permitted. No tank tops or muscle shirts.
Guest play at Seminole must be accompanied by a member. For Seminole members who wish to have guests but are unable to play with them, there is a very small window for two member sponsored groups of unaccompanied guests each day.
But there is no lack of star power joining DeChambeau at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida. Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Cantlay, Kevin Kisner, Sergio Garcia and Louis Oosthuizen are all part of the field.
