Each student must formally apply to graduate from Western. Students need to contact the home department(s) for their program(s) to request an evaluation. An evaluation is required for each program in which a student is enrolled.
180 credits180 credits are the minimum number of credits required to graduate with a bachelor's degree from Western Washington University. Many majors require more than the minimum of 180 credits. In order to graduate in four years, a student should plan to enroll in an average of 15 credits each quarter.
For example, fulltime enrollment (12 or more credits for undergraduates) requires at least six credits of regular coursework. The remaining six credits can be self-paced credits.
First five days of the quarter during which students can register or revise their schedule without penalty (see Important Dates and Deadlines). Online registration ends at midnight at the end of Phase III.
The minimum level of performance required to receive a grade of P varies from course to course and is determined by each instructor or department. Students should not assume that performance equal to a grade of D or higher will result in a passing mark. Often performance at the level of C or higher is required.
Baccalaureate Degrees with Two Majors Any undergraduate student at Western Washington University may attempt to earn a bachelor's degree with two majors.
The number of credits you enroll in determines your enrollment status (e.g., half-time, three-quarter time, full-time). Your enrollment status affects your financial aid eligibility. An undergraduate student is at a full-time enrollment status if enrolled in 12 or more credits.
Course withdrawal from the beginning of the third week to the end of the seventh week is permitted. After the seventh week of the quarter, course withdrawal is not permitted. Course withdrawal deadlines are published in the dates and deadlines section of the Registrar's Office website and the Summer Session website.
90 credit hoursFreshman: Fewer than 30 credit hours. Sophomore: At least 30 credit hours but fewer than 60 credit hours. Junior: At least 60 credit hours but fewer than 90 credit hours. Senior: At least 90 credit hours.

Western Washington University is on a quarter system. Quarter systems are typically around 10 weeks long. They consist of 4 terms: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.
