There can be a maximum of 18 remaining prerequisite credit hours to complete in the spring and summer semesters before final admission to the St. David's School of Nursing. At the time of application to the nursing program, A&P I plus at least two of the following courses must be completed: BIO 1330, CHEM 1341, BIO 2440 or 2400 and BIO 2452.

Portland Community College’s Nursing Program is designed to provide students an associate’s degree from PCC with the option of transitioning to complete a bachelor’s degree in nursing from OHSU. The course work is outlined in a four-year framework (the pace of taking prerequisite courses will vary based on placement in prerequisite courses and can extend the student’s timeline to five years for completion of the BS in Nursing).

The Office of Admissions and Records may award you credit for MED 121-Medical Terminology I and MED 122-Medical Terminology II if you successfully completed Health Science I with a B or better and passed the post assessment exam with a grade of 93 or better.
However, clinical facilities may require criminal background checks, drug screenings, credit checks, professional license checks, and/or proof of US citizenship prior to or during participation in the clinical portion of a program.
