If you are 17 years of age or older, the Hunter Education Certification Exam is the exam you take at the end of the online course. You must score at least 75% on the Hunter Education Certification Exam to pass. You have unlimited attempts to pass the Hunter Education Certification Exam. If you don’t complete the exam in one session, don’t worry.
All U.S. states, provinces, and other countries that have mandatory hunter education requirements will accept the Texas Hunter Education Certificate. Likewise, Texas will accept Hunter Education certifications that are issued by other jurisdictions that meet official IHEA-USA requirements. (This is known as “reciprocity.”)

AGE AND SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS Hunters who are less than 9 years of age, or who are 9-16 years of age and are not certified must be accompanied by a supervisor. The supervising individual must be 17 years of age or older and have obtained hunter education certification or be exempt.
