The “Sassagoula River Cruise” is a free service which ferries guests from both of the Port Orleans resorts all the way down the river to Disney Springs. The twenty minute boat trip is a very pleasant and relaxing alternative to road transport and shouldn't be missed.
The Sassagoula River is themed after the mighty Mississippi River, the word Sassagoula is the Indian term for “Mississippi.”
Port Orleans French Quarter's bus stops sit along the front wall of the lobby, between the lobby and check-in parking lot. Each theme park has its own bus stop somewhere alonthe wall. First time visitors to Walt Disney World can sometimes find navigating their way around the parks and resorts a little daunting — after all, the entire site does cover some 47 square miles, larger than many cities!
However once you’ve got the hang of it, driving around Florida is pretty simple — just try to remember which side of the road you should be driving on!
When traveling on vacation to Walt Disney World, most people think about the amazing rides and attractions they’ll get to go on. They’ll also imagine which characters they will get to meet and amazing food they will eat! Many people are surprised to find out the Walt Disney World resort has so much more than just that.
Most people don’t know golfing at Walt Disney World is an option! There is lots of shopping, entertainment, and outdoor activities aside from just the parks! One of my favorite activities to partake in at Walt Disney World is golf. Disney has four amazing courses that are so tucked away, you may not have ever known they existed!
Out of these four courses, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course is the only course that is strictly walking, no carts allowed. It is also only 9 holes, compared to the other three golf courses that have the complete 18 holes. All four courses have the Arnold Palmer course design.
If you are at Walt Disney World often and have never played on one of these courses, go get out there and experience what golfing Disney style is like! If you’ve never played and are too nervous to begin on a full sized course, Disney also offers two mini golf locations. They are fun for the whole family!
Along with the golf shop, each course also has a little quick service restaurant. They also have a cart constantly driving from hole to hole throughout the day, serving food while you’re on the course. You’ll never have to worry about getting hungry!
