The basket used to be one aspect of the course rating and to meet this criteria, events must utilize approved baskets. Four events (Waco, Jonesboro, Idlewild & GMC) decided to upgrade their baskets.
The best disc golfers in the world will be competing on the Pro Tour so these courses need to be designed with the best players in mind. Look spectacular. While it is not easy to design a course that will challenge the best players, it is even more difficult to do so and make it look beautiful. Pro Tour courses should have great aesthetics.

How Many Baskets Does a Disc Golf Course Have. The official course is usually about 9 or 18 baskets or holes if you like, Some course designers have placed 27 baskets on a single field of play. The basket design, there can only be one rim, one chain set up and one lower basket.
The basic dimensions of a disc golf basket must meet is the ring must be 21 1/3” in diameter and the chains cannot hang more than 22 inches below the rim. The chains will extend into the lower basket which measures about 6.7 inches high and 25.7 inches in diameter.
