Slope 124. Rating 71.9. The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots.
The Red Course is a very fine golf course and is an excellent value. It is a nice layout with well kept fairways and greens. Great practice facility on the premises as well.
Take aim at the right edge of the second bunker using your favorite 3-wood or long iron. Keeping your tee shot on the left side of the fairway allows the most room to shoot for the pin. Word to the wise: The green is guarded by bunkers on the left and a water hazard on the right.
Keeping your tee shot in the fairway is important to your approach shot to the green. Watch out for the pesky bunker along the left side of the green.

Built in 1972, the Red Course is a traditional layout lined with pine and eucalyptus trees. The course's closing stretch of holes (15, 16, 17 and 18) just may be the toughest final four holes in the Phoenix area. The 15th hole is a 414-yard par-4 that requires a well-placed tee shot to bring birdie or par into play.
