The 27 holes of championship golf at Trappers Golf Club are spread across the rolling countryside of Wisconsin Dells, a landscape that was carved by glaciers thousands of years ago. The terrain provided an incredible canvas for course designers Andy North and Roger Packard to work with.
The Canyon is home to Trappers Turn's signature hole, the par-3 seventh, which has an extreme drop in elevation into a small green that sits amidst a glacier-formed canyon but it is not as intimidating a hole as it seems. The scenery continues onto the Arbor nine, which borders the Rocky Arbor State Park.
Trappers Turn Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf that stretch across scenic terrain that was carved by glaciers. The holes are divided into the Lake, Canyon, and Arbor nines, which can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. Andy North and Roger Packard collaborated to design all of the holes.
The only problem we had was we were supposed to golf with 4 people and one of our foursome had a medical issue and had to cancel. The man at Trappers Turn said we should contact Golf Now and they would refund our $86. I would greatly appreciate this.
Trappers Turn, located in Wisconsin Dells , is adding to its already compelling 27-hole golf course. During my last round in October 2019, I noticed an advertising board in the pro shop announcing the Trappers Turn Short Course. Read this short blog post about these new short courses and what I expect from Trappers Turn.
Wisconsin’s own, Andy North, is teaming up with Oliphant Golf to design and build 12 holes at Trappers Turn. Oliphant Golf is the same team responsible for renovating Lawsonia Links several years ago. The course will be built at the center of the property on some of the most interesting land featuring steep elevations and rock formations known only exclusively in the Wisconsin Dells area. I expect the views and golf shots to both be extraordinary.
I am very excited for this type of course to come to Trappers Turn. My recent review of the 27-hole course at Trappers Turn describes how it delivers an exceptional golf course at a good value. The addition of these 12 holes will only increase the appeal for the golf resort.
An early preview of the course is expected in fall of 2020 with a public opening in Summer 2021. The graphic below lays out the course routing. Knowing what I know about this patch of land, the Trappers Turn short course will be loads of fun!
I believe the new short course will be a big draw for Trappers Turn morphing it into a true golf destination. It will add one more dimension to the golfing experience and invite players to extend their time on the property. Here are some ways I anticipate golfers to enjoy the course:
