How many golf courses does Treetops Resort have?

The Treetops Resort has five golf courses available to travelers, and the Premier Course typically lives up to its name in being the highest-rated among them. Granted, it is Tom Fazio’s only design in the golf-heavy state, so it needs to represent him well.

What is the premier course at Treetops?

The Premier Course at Treetops is a Fazio design. The first hole is a long downhill par 4. Fairway and greenside bunker right. Favor the right off the tee, don’t be surprised at a downhill, sidehill lie. Not the easiest starting hole. The 2nd hole is a very reachable par 5. Favor the right off the tee. There is a greenside bunker front right. The 3rd is the number one handicap hole, a long uphill par 4. Favor the right off the tee as there is a trio of fairway bunkers right. On the approach, there is a false front and the bunkers are not greenside. Take an extra club. The 4th is a downhill par 3, take one less club. Another hole with some random bunkers that do not come into play. The 5th is considered a driveable par 4 even though it is slightly uphill. For the rest of us I think the left side provides the best approach, however, that will vary depending upon the pin location on this demanding two tiered green. Fun hole. The 6th is a short par five that is also reachable. Ideal tee shot just left of the two right bunkers. The green is protected by bunkers left and moguls short right and a false front. The 7th plays tough, tight fairway with an elevated green that is at least one club perhaps two more. Additionally, the front half of the green is sloped to reject approaches, do not be surprised when the ball comes back off the front. The 8th is mid-length par 3 that is short. It is extremely downhill, I would guess about 150 foot drop and may play 3 clubs less. There are two front right pot bunkers, one sand and one grass. The front part of this green also has a tendency to reject shots. The 9th was my favorite hole on the front and no, I did not birdie it. A sweeping downhill, uphill dogleg left with a bunker on the inside elbow. Favor the right off the tee and take an extra club on the approach. This undulating green is guarded by some penurious deep front bunkers.

The Fazio Premier is the easiest and least inspiring offering of the 3 championship courses at Treetops (Signature & Masterpiece) but is still overall a good course that would be a top 20 public option in many states. There is no lack of Elevation and views of the Treetops at any of the courses here so get used to uphill approaches and picturesque downhill par 3’s. Treetops may not be what it once was with Rick Smith but is still one of the best value buddies locations in America with 5 total courses one of which is the famous Par 3 from the skins games Threetops. I would recommend anyone serious about golf get here at-least once.
