Dropping Courses Once courses are selected for the semester, no changes in course status occur unless the student initiates the changes. To drop a course (s), the University's formal drop procedure must be followed by accessing the appropriate option within FAU Self-Service, available through MyFAU.

Student financial aid statistics indicate that, while 83.8% of college students benefit from some form of financial aid, public programs are underutilized. 36.7% of undergraduates each receive an average of $8,285 in federal loans annually. 42.0% of undergraduates each receive an average of $5,179 in federal grants.
Applicants with less than 60 transferable college credits must submit final official high school transcript. GED students must submit transcripts from the institution where they attended and the official GED score report.
Transcripts are processed and available for pickup* at any FAU Registrar's Office within one (1) working day after your request is received.

Your GPA (grade point average) is calculated by dividing the sum of all grade points earned at FAU by the total number of credits attempted. Courses in which grades of “P”, “W” or “WM” have been received are not used in calculating GPA.
Tuition, Fees and Refunds. Tuition and other fees are due on or before the last day to pay (see the Academic Calendar and Tuition and Billing Important Dates ). A student is not considered officially registered and may not attend classes until fees are paid or arrangements are made to pay fees.
Fee liability (meaning payment is due for all tuition and fees ) occurs when a fee deferment is accepted (i.e., deferrals for financial aid applicants who are approved to receive aid), arrangements for fee payment are made or a partial payment is made.
The Fee Petition form must be submitted within six months after the last day of classes for the semester. Situations such as employment changes, relocation of home, transportation problems, dislike for the instructor/course, etc., are not considered circumstances for filing a fee petition. Refund.
Students cancelled for non-payment of fees may be reinstated. Reinstatement requires immediate fee payment in full using a Webcheck or credit card or requires other University-approved arrangements for fee payment (installment payment, deferment or third party billing), plus a $100 late payment and a $100 reinstatement fee.
Students must still pay for the course (s) that they drop. Refund of Registration Fees. 1. Students who drop a class or withdraw from the University before the end of the first week of classes will receive a full refund, less non-refundable fees.

Each student enrolled in the same undergraduate course more than twice shall be assessed a Repeat Course Surcharge of $192.47 per credit hour in addition to the fees outlined above for each course.
Every student receiving financial aid is assigned a cost of attendance based on the following: 1 Classification = Undergraduate or Graduate 2 Residency = Florida or Non-Florida 3 Enrollment Status = Full-Time, ¾ time, half-time or less than half-time 4 Housing Status = On-campus, off-campus or with parents

Because costs are only estimated, each student may find that their overall costs are more or less, depending on the student’s educational requirements and living arrangements.
A mandatory photo ID fee/Owl Card must be paid during the first semester enrolled at FAU. This fee is non-refundable. The Owl Card is primarily used for identification, for verification of FAU status and for using University services such as the Library (OWL CARD must be presented in order to check out books), Dining Services (with purchase of a meal plan or talon tokens), obtaining passes for University sporting and theatrical events, for use as debit card, BankAtlantic ATM, participating University shops and other related services.
eLearning Fee is a platform for delivery of on-line education. Courses that are offered on-line will be assessed a fee in addition to the traditional tuition and fees per credit hour. This fee is non-refundable.
The legislature requires all Florida public colleges and universities to assess an excess charge if a student attempts a course at the same institution for three or more times. An attempt is any time that a student becomes fee liable (are registered for the course after drop/add deadline).
