NEW YORK -- Donald Trump plans to build 2,300 luxury homes at his Doral golf resort in the Miami area, part of a flurry of recent moves to revive a family business suffering from the one-two punch of a divisive presidency and coronavirus shutdowns.

In February 2012, the Trump Organization purchased the Doral Resort & Spa out of bankruptcy for $150 million. The property's name was then changed to Trump National Doral. Trump began a $250-million renovation of the resort in 2013, which was completed in 2016.
The Red and Gold courses cost $250 per round, with the Silver course green fee at $195. Staying at Trump Doral as a hotel guest, however, isn't particularly outrageous. Rates for a Deluxe Room with a king bed in a 343-square-foot room start at $170 per night. A Premier Suite runs about $400 per night.
