The resort has three golf courses. The Brabazon Course is the main tournament course, and the others are the PGA National and The Derby. The headquarters of The Professional Golfers' Association are also located there, along with a 4-star hotel, tennis courts and a leisure spa.
The majestic fairways and carpet-smooth greens of The Brabazon form a world-famous stage on which some of golf's most exhilarating dramas have played out. Its meticulous design involves tight fairways, perilous bunkers, lakes and fast undulating greens that have challenged some of golf's greatest players.
There is no handicap restriction for The Derby golf course. The Rules of Golf and The Belfry Golf Course Etiquette must be adhered to at all times on the golf courses and putting green – this document is displayed at Golf Reception and with the Starter.
In ascending order I'd go Derby, Brabazon, PGA. As a member who has played all three, I think the PGA is the best. The Derby will be a bit of a let down as at it's worst it's no better than a decent muni. At it's best though it plays like a mid-range private course.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Cedar Capital Partners have acquired the Belfry Hotel & Resort in Sutton Coldfield, North Warwickshire, from an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners. The venue, which has three 18-hole golf courses, has hosted the Ryder Cup four times.
The golf course at Rockliffe Hall has been designed with tournament play so it was always going to be long. However “long” sells this beast of a course a bit short as it's actually the longest golf course in Europe; measuring an astonishing 7,879 yards!
No denim/jeans are allowed. Trousers or tailored shorts only to be worn (no combat style trousers or shorts allowed) and all shirts must have a collar or a mock neck and must be worn tucked in (no round neck T-Shirts permitted) short socks are permitted with shorts.
The fleet of buggies at The Belfry have been standing idle for much of the last two months. All 80 of them – a collection that would normally be in full use around the Derby, PGA National and Brabazon courses at the West Midlands venue. Think how much it costs to hire a buggy.

WishawBelfry Golf Club - The Derby Course in Wishaw, North Warwickshire, England | GolfPass.
The hole plays over 270 yards to the pin from the white tees, a fairly big carry to the green for most amateur golfers, however it is short enough to entice many golfers into thinking about pulling out the big stick.
The courses were named after Lord Brabazon of Tara and the Earl of Derby, both previous Captains of the PGA.

The Belfry (Brabazon) - Warwickshire - England. The Belfry played host to the 1985 Ryder Cup and was also host in 1989, 1993 and 2002. No other club has staged three Ryder Cups, let alone four, so The Belfry’s Brabazon course has become a Ryder Cup synonym. 1985 was a breakthrough year for Europe when Sam Torrance holed the winning birdie putt.
A small group of players from the University of the West of England Golf Team got up early and travelled from Bristol, along the M5 north to The Belfry Hotel & Resort. A cold and damp February – granted not the best day to visit. The itinerary was 18-holes on The Brabazon, Dinner and one nights stay.
The Ryder Cup was played at PGA National in 1983, Muirfield Village in 1987, Kiawah Island in 1991, Oak Hill in 1995, the Country Club, Brookline in 1999 and Oakland Hills in 2004. The Brabazon course at The Belfry doesn't need introducing. After all, it's unique. This course has played host to more Ryder Cups than any other course on ...
The 10th is the short par 4 which begs you to have a crack at the green. The risk is a creek running in front and to the side and you have a choice whether to go for the green or take a short iron layup and wedge.

The Belfry has never looked back. Alliss and Thomas were given an unremarkable piece of farmland, which required significant sculpting to turn it into a remarkable golf course. For many visiting golfers, The Belfry (and The Brabazon course, in particular) is Mecca.
This hole has seen more Ryder Cup emotion than any other hole in the world. For this reason alone, to follow in the footsteps of golf's greatest legends, The Brabazon is a must-play course. But it's not everyone's cup of tea.
With its inland links appearance, this championship golf course presents a unique challenge with fast running fairways, undulating greens, severe run-offs and its 70 strategically placed cavernous bunkers. Hosting two European Tour golf events, the PGA National is fast becoming one of the top golf courses in the United Kingdom.
All our courses are maintained to the highest standard throughout the year, with no temporary tees or greens.
